NorCal Pirate Fest and the Bay Area

June held the NorCal Pirate Fest and excitement for Chub Chub and his full costume. The Saturday it was super hot so we decided to drive into the Bay Area and hang out around the piers. The weather had to be at least 20 degrees cooler. We went around the piers and then went to the Ripley's Believe it or Not Museum which is one of my favorite attractions in San Francisco.

This is the new part of our costumes. With Joe's new vest and his baldric which he made out of buffalo leather.

And here is the before. This is before I got the rose top and he had made the green vest out of a large green shirt. No pirate hat either. At the top I do not have my full outfit on but I think so far we did a pretty good job looking like pirates.

Mini Vacation

 We took a mini vacation to Morro Bay for our Anniversary/Joe's birthday. Saturday was rainy and cold and very windy. We headed over to the beach and enjoyed the salty air.

 

 We went to The Great American Fish Company for lunch. The served some of the best fish a chips I have ever had. The cod is freshly caught there locally. We liked it so much that we decided to have lunch there the next day with the same server! Great people and yummy food, so if you stop in at Morro Bay we totally recommend this place.

 As the sun was setting Saturday I took this awesome picture of Morro Rock the storm finally leaving.

 The next day the sun was out and the sky clear. As we walked around the shops looking for that one treasure we had to have.

 After shopping we headed over to the beach to hang out and let me tell you the wind was crazy and so were the waves!

 Chub Chub wanted a kite, so we got him a pirate kite to fly. The wind took it right up and he tried to crash it into the seagulls.

After this we went to have lunch and had to leave to go back home. Which the dumb GPS took us down a very twirly back road. But we made it home safe and sound and smelling like the ocean!

We have been talking about visiting Three Rivers and decided to just go and check it out. I have never been there and it has been about a Decade since Chub Chub had been up there. We drove by Kaweah Lake which isn't looking very good. Stupid drought. So there we were up in the mountains in late January without jackets. We agreed it was kind of weird. We stopped at Reimer's and browsed the stores.

Picking up candies, went across the street to get some Jerky. Not your normal jerky either. We picked up buffalo, yack, antelope, and wild boar. We skipped on the alligator since we tried that on the way to Vegas last year. We wanted elk but it was out. So we went back across the street and grabbed up some ice cream. We sat outside and enjoyed the weird winter warm day. Btw a big thanks to Cptain Bruce for piloting the CRV. All together it was an awesome drive and day.
