Monster Hat

I turned my boring hats into monster hats. Pictures is the zombie hat with felt and button eyes and a sea monster with tenticles and felt and button eyes. I am now making a zombie bag pics to come soon.

ChubChub is learning to tattoo!

ChubChub is a pretty good artist and one of the things he wanted to learn is tattooing which he is learning to do thanks to his friends Travis.

First real tattoo he did on me. Just need color now.

Fan Girl is published!!

Space Rebels is only available in e-format. It is a space sci-fi book.
In the future the earth is in a civil war against the rich and the poor. People have escaped off to the Moon or the new colonies on Mars to get away from the fighting. On a cargo ship a group of misfits are trying to stay away from the war, but soon they are thrown back into it whether they like it or not.

Chub Chub makes a pirate baldric...

A baldric (also baldrick, bawdrick, bauldrick as well as some other, mostly rare or obsolete, variations) is a belt worn over one shoulder that is typically used to carry a weapon (usually a sword) or other implement such as a bugle or drum. The word may also refer to any belt in general, but this usage is poetic and not considered standard.

Baldrics have been used since ancient times, usually as part of military dress. The design offers more support for weight than a standard waist belt, without restricting movement of the arms, and allowing easy access to the object carried. For example, the late 18th-century British Army's distinctive "lobsterback" uniform pattern featured a pair of white baldrics crossed at the chest, with a soldier's bayonet sheath suspended from one and his canteen suspended from the other. Alternatively, and especially in modern times, the baldric may fill a ceremonial role rather than a practical one.

 Chub Chub made the baldric out of buffalo leather and a matching possibles bag.

 The Rings attached to the baldric help the sword move with him and makes the sword easier to carry.

Buffalo leather is real soft and thick. The bag is very sturdy.

Arts and crafts Tuesday!

As we were grabbing up some herbs we were trying to figure out what to do with it. They had small mason jars full of herbs, and we thought it was pretty niffty. But we could do better.

We used metal clamps and screwed them into the shed wall. We used pots so we can remove them if we have to in case the weather gets real bad.

Chamomile, sweet basil, garlic chives and cilantro so far. We do plan on adding some more on the wall. 

Chub Chub's new project.

Chub Chub got some buffalo leather and is now working on a baldric for his pirate outfit. He is looking for a buckle now to finish it up after he finishes it all up more pictures to come.

Let me say crocheting is hard. This block took me about five hours to make. I was told it takes a lot of practice. I now understand the concept. So now I just have to keep from making it too tight or too loose. I need to also get better with counting knots, for some reason I seem to forget and just go with it like my hats. But looming is way different then handing crocheting.

Fan Girl makes her own bag.

I had nothing to go off and even youtube had no video's on how to do it. so on the biggest loom i started the flap, and when i got to the length i wanted i started on the bag which was just like making a hat. the hardest part was removing it off the loom and then sewing it together. i then did the strap on the medium loom and when finished i just sewed it onto the bag.

Fan Girl makes her first scarf and some baby hats!

I have found round loom knitting to be almost zen like. With the new job I am looking at a computer screen most of the time and when I get home I don't want to sit on my laptop like I used to. But now I have knitting, and I want to push myself to do more. After making hats for everyone for Christmas I decided to make a scarf. After about four days I have a pretty neat scarf. I decided to circle the yarn around every other two pegs. with one of the multicolored yarn. It took longer because I was recovering from all the other hats but it turned out real nice.

 We also have some new little ones being born this month and next month and for personal gifts I made them mini hats from soft baby yarn. I learned some new techniques.

My mini boys I call Mike & Ikes. New technique the strips!  The Pink one is a mini Cupcake. You can't see it very well but it goes from light to dark on top. Chub Chub wants a sunrise one now lol.

Chub Chub the Elf!

I made Chub Chub an Elf hat after I made the Santa hat I made for his dad. He saw the hat and had to have one, although he says that to every hat I make. If he had his way no one would get a hat.
